Ningdong is one of thirteen 100 million-ton major coal-mining bases approved by the national government, and is listed among the national planned construction of 6 large-scale coal power bases and 7 coal chemical industry bases. Relying on Ningdong coal field and Shenning group as its main force, Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base enjoys abundant water resources, desert land and convenient transportation. With its distinctive characteristics of circular economy, it has been designated as “Project No.One” by Ningxia government.
By the end of 2009, raw coal production capacity of Shenning Group has exceeded 50 million tons, mainly in steam coal, coking coal, and anthracite. “Taixi” anthracite characterized by “Three Low, Six High ” (low ash, low sulfur, low phosphorous, high calorific value, high specific resistance, high chemical activity, high lump coal rate, high clean coal yield, high mechanical strength) is the best material for metallugry, chemicals and other industires. With the reputation of “King of Coal” and “Taixi Black Gold”, “Taixi”anthracite is widely known both at home and abroad, and can not meet the demand of market. Super low ash pure coal, activated carbon, silicon carbide and other products produced with “Taixi” anthracite have a bright market prospect. “Xiang Zhazi” steam coal with its characteristics of low ash, low sulfur, low phosphorous, is identified as environmental clean coal and is very popular. “Taixi” anthracite and “Xiang Zhazi” have passed International Quality/Environmental Management System Certification “ISO9002” and “ISO14001”respectively.
